No RSVP required! Village Halloween is a walk-in community event. We recommend arriving early, as the event is very popular and candy is available while supplies last.

DOOR GUIDLINES

What to Expect as a Door Partner

Each Door Partner receives a freestanding door that is approximately 3 feet wide, with support stands on each side. You are welcome to decorate the door itself and up to 2 feet on each side. Feel free to incorporate or disguise the stands as part of your design—the more creative, the better!

A few important things to plan for:

  • Candy/Treats: Please plan for approximately 2,000 individually wrapped pieces of candy, small toys, or other treats.

  • Decorations: Doors can be as simple or elaborate as you would like. We just ask that everything remain family-friendly—nothing bloody, gory, frightening, or overly scary since our audience is primarily young children.

  • Staffing: Please plan to have volunteers at your door throughout the event to greet families and distribute treats. Costumes are absolutely encouraged!

  • Promotion: You are welcome to represent your school or organization through your door design, shirts, signage, etc. The experience at the door should remain focused on trick-or-treating rather than a sales or recruitment pitch.

  • Door Decorating Contest: We do have a decorating contest, so have fun with it! Judging takes place before the event begins, which is another reason we ask everyone to be completely ready by 2:30 PM.

  • Cleanup: At the end of the event, Door Partners are responsible for removing their decorations and materials. We will have a dumpster available for anything that needs to be discarded.

If you choose one of the sponsorship levels Stephanie outlined, the Village Halloween Door is optional and included with the sponsorship—you would not need to purchase a separate Door Partner registration.
