Traveling Trunks
An Educational Resource for teachers.
ImagineU Children's Museum, through a grant by the City of Visalia Community Arts Program, has developed several Traveling Trunks. These Trunks were developed by teachers for teachers. They contain lesson plans that incorporate a variety of learning modalities including visual, tactile, and auditory. The Trunks also integrate California standards for art, science, language arts and social studies. They are intended to provide a rich learning experience that will be memorable for students.
Van Gogh Trunk - (K-3rd graders):
Each grade is introduced to a Van Gogh painting and then the trunk offers different Art, Science and Social Studies lessons, activities and materials that correlate with the paintings. Get more information.
Yokut Native American Trunk - (3rd and 4th graders):
This trunk offers information on the Yokut tribe, artifacts made by a local Yokut woman, and art projects. Get more information.
Colonial Folk Art Trunk - (5th graders):
This trunk offers different materials, activities and lessons that correlate with Colonial Folk Art. Some Folk Art activities include quilting, weaving, pottery and much more. Get more information.
Waste Management Trunk - (K - 12th)
With this trunk you will find various activities that pertain to recycling and environmental cleanliness. Plenty of fun activities turning recycled goods into fun games. Call for more information (559) 733-5975.

Check Out Procedures
The trunks can be checked out on a Friday and returned on the following Thursday. The Colonial Folk Art trunk can be checked out for two weeks. Each trunk comes with full instructions and supplies to carry out all projects.
